Jobs Across The World | Growing Demand for Full-Time Jobs in Japan
June 15, 2017 | Japan has hired mostly temporary workers for decades, and this has resulted in less full-time employees. Junko Sakuyama, senior economist at Dai-ichi Life Research Institute, said that the shortage of workers is troublesome, because all of the jobs can’t be handled only by temporary or part-time workers.
A private job search service for foreign nationals, Jobs Across the World, reports, “This is the ideal time to move to Japan to pursue work because there are so many job openings.” The unemployment rate is a low 2.8%, which sounds positive, but most workers are temporary and part-time employees. It’s too soon to predict how things will turn out, but there do seem to be positive changes happening with more full-time, permanent workers being hired.
